That said, I would also like to bring up that there is a significant percentage of the aviation community that knows of the site and chooses to just lurk rather that post. You never know if your skipper, XO, class advisor, DH, on-wing, etc. is one of them . . . tread carefully.

While you must be respectful ... this is a great site for discourse, debate, ideas, information, and opinions ... no matter how stupid you are .... and that's the direction USNI Proceedings has gone, as well ...

Agreed. I was focusing my post more toward the perennial wannabe/Midshipman/BDCP OC/Ensign/2LT tendency to use a political thread to personally insult whatever politician or senior officer happens to be irritating them while they wait in college/A-pool.

Although my membership to Proceedings ran out, so for now I'll have to take your word on the latter . . .
