Question about Chain of Command

I am currently trying to memorize the big 4 while i wait for my class date. My problem is that the two sources that I am using (usnavyocs.com and OCS Prep booklet given to me by my recruiter) have chains of command that do not match. Since I must know this verbatim and dont want to waste time at OCS relearning something i should already know, I was wondering if some one would post the correct OCS Chain of command or PM it to me if there are any restrictions on posting names on the site. Thanks

How far down the chain do they differ? The big names at the top should all be the same. The names all the way down the chain will differ and you probably wont get the exact chain until you get there.

It isnt just the names of personnel. its the names of the positions between:
Officer Candidate School Dept Head
and
Cheif of Naval Operations.

Ex. #8) Commanding Officer of Naval Aviation Schools Command (in OCS Prep Book.)
or
#8) Commanding Officer of Officer Training Command Pensicola (On website.)

I Just want to be sure im learning the right thing. thanks

I'm going by what's on the great lakes OCS site. It may differ a bit from what we actually need to know, but it'll be close enough to make studying worthwhile.

I didnt go to Navy OCS, but I would venture a guess and say that their website is probably closest to the truth. I would stick with that for now. Maybe someone who is fresh out of OCS can say otherwise

I just checked the usnavyocs.com website and they are out of date for SECDEF, SECNAV and CNO. They still have Rumsfeld, England and Clark; need to be updated to Gates, Winter and Mullen. Pensacola is such a sleepy hollow sometimes so I guess they've haven't heard the news from DC...;)

God my english skills suck...to clarify i meant I went to USMC ocs as opposed to Navy OCS...not the navyocs site...by their site I meant the link that I posted...three cheers for public school

Ex. #8) Commanding Officer of Naval Aviation Schools Command (in OCS Prep Book.)

That's definately a case of the book being out of date, as they've realigned OCS so that it's under Officer Training Command, vice Naval Aviation Schools Command. When I went thru in 2002, it was Nava Aviation Schools Command.

The OCS website that Slammer2 linked is up to date.

BTW - are you out of NRD Columbus? (same place I was out of =D)

The big names (SECNAV,SECDEF and others) you can find out, the others you will get the first day at OCS. I memorized the positions (not names) in the DEP book and it took all of about 1 day to stick the names in once I got there. I'm a pretty recent graduate, if you have any other Q's PM me.

Josh
