I’m heading down to P'Cola for API in a few weeks, what kind of base policies are there that concern firearms? I'd prefer not to have to leave my rifle and handgun back in Maine when I go down. Do I have to check them in at an armory or something of that nature when I arrive?
 
My base's MA's will arrest you if you try and bring a weapon on base. You can probably consider it a general rule (if it isn't a law) that you are not permitted to bring personal weapons on base.
 
No weapons on base, just like everywhere else. Seriously, live off base like EVERYONE else.

Correct. If you have to live on base for a few days while looking for a place, call the cops before you get there to coordinate an escort to the armory from the front gate.
