Who the hell actually said "niner" at OCS? I don't recall ever hearing that.

Niner, deck/bulkhead/overhead, go-faster/go-slower, Irish pennant, phonetic alphabet, etc.

Over time I bet quite a few words and -isms come and go from the OCS lexicon. The big picture doesn't change and they're just a few more of a million little things meant to stress you out and get inside your ooda loop.

Also: Thuh-ree ... Fow-wah ... Fi-yive ... etc., etc. ...

It's the only way you could be understood, sometimes.
