Haven’t seen this posted here yet.

This can be a game changer for reservists, particularly naval aviator reservists that can’t be hired into the reserves off the street.

I hope as many people as possible write their representatives to express their support.

It's a nice idea, but given how money works in Congress, they'll likely want to look for savings elsewhere if they're going to approve this cost. I don't see anything proposed alongside and likewise don't see this advancing very far.

I say this half tongue in cheek and half seriously - find the savings by getting rid of the NRCs and doing a RIF of the TAR/FTS that add no value.

It’s the cut off date that always kills me. I had four single year GWOT tours but only one (after 2008) applied to lower my retirement age. It sucks to be old but reminds me of this…

Sure, I'll bite. If they implement it fairly and simply (e.g. 20 qualifying years = retire at 60 - (AD time / adjustment factor)) and make it apply to all current and future retirees without any additional administrative burden, I'm in.

If it's "only applies to members who separate after July 4, 2032, or AD component members currently serving, and caveats X, Y and Z plus an additional thirteen application forms need to be filled out exactly correctly to prove the service we already know you did", then I don't care anymore.

Given that this would cost USG more money that isn't going to oligarchs, I doubt we'll ever see it happen.
