Good afternoon all. I’m well on the way to returning to the reserves after a three year Covid induced hiatus. I was first contacted by a recruiter about two years ago and nearly hung up on him. Since then after prayerful consideration and lots of discussion with my wife, I’ve decided to pursue my commission and finish my time to retirement (or beyond, perhaps). I left as a 17-year CDR after a two year mobilization.
Anyone else either in the process or thinking about it?
Hail Mary here, but any SELRES flying jobs open to an O-5 overgrade waiver? I talked to a buddy who retired and works as a contract pilot for CNATRA, he said it’s almost certainly a no-go there due to my rank and no previous CNATRA time. I’ve got about 1800 hours, mostly in 53’s and 60’s.
Given my new background as a firefighter/paramedic, I'm also very interested in NEPLO. Having flown a decent amount of HADR and now on the civilian side of that on a daily basis, I feel like it would be a good fit. Thoughts?
