What is the outlook for Marine Aviation, is it backed up like the Navy? Or do they have slots?

My class just graduated TBS and all of the aviators were sent direclty to Pensacola. Our IFS was cancelled because the pool in API was empty. Now if this reflects what is going on with Primary and Intermediate, is a question I can't answer.

I believe, all of those who gave an "affectionate" name for TBS has more or less undergone it. I just wish that it would be soon for me.
Ghish, that sounds great. You don't have to wait for months. How long does an air contract usually wait before starting API?

I hlave a question about TBS. What is a typical day like there? More OCS like junk or is it more like attending SOI?

Funny you ask...just the other day I was telling someone that TBS was similiar to SOI, but 4 months longer. (when I went to SOI it was 2 months long, I have no idea what it is today) Days are pretty long. Securing time and on-deck-time change everyday but on average I'd have to say that a regular day begins with a 0630 ODT and ends with a 1830 securing time. Some companies have different schedules, so take this with a grain of salt. The training is awesome and it is nowhere near as stressful as OCS. Once you're securing, you're free to do as you wish as long as you are back in your room at ODT ready to go.
