Just like Baghdad Bob said we wern't anywhere near Baghdad when you could almost see the tanks rolling by in the background. These people have ran their lives this way for the past 700 years. They talk big, kill people to try to back up what they are saying, but are really nothing but a bunch of fools traped in the 12th century. Its gonna be interesting to see what happens ...
Exactly, they don't like our modern ways - therefore they think its their responsibility to bring us back in time to the days of Muhammed (I don't what time period he lived in off the top of my head, so no need to correct me on which century, just used the 12th as a general reference ...)

No, he does have a point. Sounds like you are lumping all of the Middle East togather and making a blanket statements like the ones above that make you sound like you have zero idea what your talking about. The Ba'ath party actually started out as a political party focused around secularisim and socialism... and then evolved into Saddam's regime. Muhammed was never on Saddam's agenda. The Iraqi people are pretty secular and modern overall. It seems only after Iraqs more religiously conservative neighbors (Saudi Arabia and Iran are on the top of the list) started making active efforts to exert influence over Iraqi reconstruction did this religion thing start really start to pop up. Saddam only used the religion card when it was politically benificial for him to do so (getting support from other Arab nations etc.).

Next time, take a few seconds and try a search engine and do a little research before you chime in on complicated topics so you avoid sounding ignorant and then like a jackass when someone upsets you by telling you that you are oversimplifying things.

It's not upsetting...but when you make comments you are throwing yourself out there on the block...don't be surprised if someone takes a chop when it sounds a little dumb...no harm done here, but I mean, without being totally condescending, think about it. u know?
