that's crazy, I never had to do an in-person interview. I guess what I'd recommend is just to be respectful. I don't think they'll assume that you know much about the Navy or Marine Corps, but I guess anything helps. I remember having a phone interview with a chief. I don't know if that was common back then, but I guess thinking about it now I'm glad.
He asked me what my hobbies were, my grades, classes and any leadership type experience I had during high school. My phone interview was like 15 minutes. The following week I found out that I got the scholarship. Then I had to wait on my acceptance to schools.
