I'm turning 27 today, I have come to accept that there are multiple factors working against me regarding my application. Last December, I had finally graduated from college tried to boost my grades & was successful enough, but one semester went poorly; over the last two years I have committed myself to becoming a U.S. Naval aviator & was rushing to grab my Bachelors in order to do so. I was working overtime hours and going to school & lately have been preparing for a positive reception from the Navy.

Overall GPA: 2.63
In major GPA: 3.1

Past:

A Low GPA from High school

Three separate Class C misdemeanor charges all within the span of approx. two years,
all arrests occurred four/five years ago. I am eligible to get them expunged at the discretion of the courts involved should I pursue such an undertaking.

So I got a lot of things that help and also are not very helpful. I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on the viability of my package through the information provided for you to read. Should I retest? What are your thoughts? I have about 3 weeks to study more before we are to submit the my package to become a Naval Aviator. Give it to me straight doc. I went through MEPS healthy and they pulled records which are touched on in this Post. I exercise frequently and take care of myself. I need this to go well and to have my shot at flight school.

Should I study more and attempt to retest for higher scores?

Making Recruiting Great Again

First and foremost, welcome to the page. Second, the "new guy/gal" posts are discouraged... otherwise this forum would get hundreds daily. Instead, please take the time to research and browse the forums/threads pertinent to you, particularly here:

You can find Pilot/NFO board forums and see for yourself how folks stack and if they were selected or not. Emphasis on searching instead of copying/pasting the same question - that does nothing in your favor.

In short, welcome to the page but please do the homework and research. Best of luck.

No one cares about your in major GPA just overall, and your GPA isn't good.

No one cares about your HS GPA, but you said it was low which to be blunt isn't surprising you have a low college GPA.

Expungement does nothing when it comes to the military or the federal government, 3 in a short time isn't good but what they are good sink you or might be ok with a waiver. The last company I worked for that required federal background checks we were ok if a person had drunk in public, DUI, even assault and battery from being in a fight, but a person with one shoplifting or theft charge was a no go.

Your ASTB is a mixed bag with an OK PFAR and low FOFAR, hold for now.

LOR's generally don't matter for aviation, you might need them for character reference, if they are family friends or relatives probably useless, if past employers or supervisors that is better.

Your medical is not great.

No one cares about flight experience.

IF you get past N33 and they give you a physically qualified letter and IF you get waivers for your criminal activity and IF the board overlooks the criminal waiver you MIGHT have a chance to get selected.

The Navy wouldn’t let you fly rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong, let alone being a deck hand on a Chinese Junk transport said shit.

Now Delta has this guy named Capt. Mad Dog he might be able to fix you.

they are all Public Intoxication.
Nothing is expunged when applying for military service or jobs requiring a security clearance.
And holy shit dude, like... we've all been drunk in public countless times but we didn't get a single ticket for it, much less 5.
As a guy in charge of hiring pilots into an ANG unit, you sound like you'd be a liability on a good deal TDY/port call/anywhere everyone is out having beverages.

I do have to say that it would be hard to start off as an ensign with a “loss of confidence in ability to command” already in your record.
