they say any news is good news but i think that equates to you got picked up but not for what you wanted, not gonna complain just let down.
i won't ever give up if i don't get what i want... i will try to get to the field i want. i just wish i were a fly on the wall to see what might have swayed their decision even to not give me my first choice.
but hoooyah regardless, bring it on if i made it to the officer rank!!!!!!
i'll let you guys know if i am just being paranoid or if the front seat will have to wait. wish luck to all those who are chasing the k-12 of careers.
I am lost, what did you get picked up for? I assume NFO due to your "front seat will have to wait" comment. Look at this as something good that happened, and that this new career will be exciting and something you can add to your excitment for Navy Pilot. Go into it excited, and never tell yourself that you are ONLY a SWO, or ONLY an NFO becuase you didn't make Pilot, but tell yourself that you are going to be a GREAT SWO or A GREAT NFO, that way you will enjoy what you do. This really works with any job, but it is important because sometimes you have to do what you don't like to get to your end goal... and as long as your end goal is NAVY Officer, then look at it as a sucessful victory, though just through a different route.
On the other hand.... if you truly madly deeply want to be an Pilot, then go for it, keep trying, and "wait and you shall receive"... I believe I have heard that on AW more than once.
(Following is hypothetical)
Maybe there wasn't anything wrong with your package, maybe it was right up there with the competetive packages, just unfortunate luck of the draw you weren't picked due to quota constraints... maybe it was your GPA that was too low, which would only frustrate you because you cant go BACK and change that, maybe blah blah blah. My point is, your package is as good as you could make it, otherwise you wouldn't have submitted, just keep trying. Good luck man, keep me posted.
Were you going for BDCP or a direct slot?
