what you can expect from after graduating from ocs is to walk across the street, still in your grad uniform, hand flight management your paperwork and check in. done. you are know a member of the A-pool. during you stay in A-pool you will get Basic Officer leadership course (boltc) Introductory flight screen (IFS) and possible a stash job. Pilot wait right now is not long, but depending on when you report it could be several weeks wait, just depending on how many academy grads report for pilot on june 1st.
Boom. Correct. The current wait for pilots is basically... none. A pilot will check in and they'll throw you into IFS and BOLTC ASAP and then class you up as soon as they can. AFAIK it's staying that way for a while.what you can expect from after graduating from ocs is to walk across the street, still in your grad uniform, hand flight management your paperwork and check in. done. you are know a member of the A-pool. during you stay in A-pool you will get Basic Officer leadership course (boltc) Introductory flight screen (IFS) and possible a stash job. So let me get this straight...no boats, pistol quals or O-Course? having been a midshipman for the first two years of college, I'd like to believe that I know a very little bit about the Navy and that same little bit about training. So what exactly do we do at OCS? - PT, drill, classes, repeat?
P.S. I'd like to add that according to what I've read on this site, it seems like the "literature" they hand out when you are contracted is already totally obsolete.
Guess I went shooting yesterday for nothing! Well, almost nothing...
None of which have any bearing or impact on your future as an officer. Keep that in perspective.
