So my package is out

Hello all, first post here.

Today I submitted my package for the upcoming IDC board (just barley made it apparently as the dates shifted). Job options I listed were Intelligence Officer, Information Warfare, Cryptology, and Supply Corps.

My OAR is not amazing, 46. I took the ASTB OAR portion twice now and even after a month long intense study I scored exactly the same as I did the first time.

I have a B.A. in Information Science and less then a semester away from having a M.S. in the same.

Grades are good, honors for my B.A. and working on high honors for my M.S.

I currently work as the manager of an IT department at a local company, so I insisted upon including my resume in the folder.

Please give me any feedback on my chances at these upcoming boards!

It's never easy to know what the Navy is thinking/wanting at any given time, so tough to tell chances...but your OR took the time to help you get that package together and submit it, so that's a vote of confidence from the only person who matters at this point. Good luck, and congrats on what is probably the best topic title currently active on AW!

IW = Crypto, Crypto is now called IW the change happened a few years ago.

In general selection rates for anything IDC is low, supply is not as low and it does vary.

A high GPA will stand out, and as long as you have a year of calculus and calculus based physics you should have a better than average chance.

I would have encouraged you to apply for SWO as well if your main goal is to be an officer.

Hey, thanks for all the replies everyone!

I did not apply for SWO as I am color blind and am auto DQ from many programs because of that.

I also got word yesterday, that my tattoos have passed the screening process. This was exciting news for me because I have a single large tattoo that covers 70-80% of my left arm. I was concerned it might be too much, but since it does not show out of my sleeve or collar, I guess its ok.

Anyone have any knowledge of the competitiveness for Supply Corps? I see lots of detail on IDC jobs, seems everyone wants in.
