Ensign SWOs generally don't work on carriers. Think Amphib or CRUDES....

Well, an ensign SWO I know just got busted for frat and was moved from a destroyer in San Diego to a carrier near Iraq for an eight-month deployment. They should be shipping or whatever in a few days. Bummer :)

EDIT: Moral of the story: If you're seeking a carrier deployment...bang a sailor?

I don't know if you are being funny or not. This is sadly common practice and not a good thing...

I was just making a tasteless, off-topic joke out of an unsavory situation that resulted in an outcome I didn't expect. I figured if you got busted for frat, you'd be discharged or reprimanded or something like that, depending on the case. I didn't think the punishment would entail transferring to a carrier for an eight-month deployment.

Not sure if that transfer was done as much for 'punishment' for the frat, as it may have been Navy's need to fill a deployed CVN ENS billet, plus a convenient opportunity to separate the fraternizer and fraternizee geographically. This would not be the first time.;)

Never seen a Chief or Officer that was busted for frat that was allowed to stay, I have seen an Officer re-assigned for many months while an investigation was done, then that Officer was discharged.
