I believe the #1 reason for people not finishing is lower leg injuries.

This was not the case in my platoon. We only had one leave from a lower leg injury, and it was pretty clear he wanted to leave too.

The rest left because they weren't good leaders, were integrity violators, couldn't PT, or went UA in the middle of the night.

Nikki.. call an OSO soon, not a regular marine recruiter. Theyll want to pull you into a marine enlistment slot. Theres gotta be room for women graduates, especially with your stats and prior service. Start training for the physical fitness test and ask your recruiter for the Officer Selection Office # near you. If they give you a problem, call 1800MARINES and complain. According to Spin, enlisted recruiters might give you a hard time.

Praying to get in 184

*A hard time giving the OSOs phone #, not becoming a Marine officer. Ha... I just wanted to clear that.

My husband is currently enlisted Navy, and has applied for the upcoming USMC OCS class 184. He had to get something called a "conditional release" signed by his current chain of command, and it went in with the officer package his OSO submitted. The OSO will take care of all of the details for you. Contact an OSO ASAP as the application process is long, it took my husband almost a year to get everything together, etc.

Nikki, I'm enlisted AF and the conditional release form you will need is a DD Form 368. Talk to the Officer Recruiter near you and they should be able to help you out. You can't get a conditional release until you've been at least pro rec'd. I just found out about a week ago I was pro rec'd for NFO and my recruiter in San Antonio sent me all the paperwork. It's really not as complicated as it all seems at first.
