Looks like a great museum, but what a shame about the ugly barriers. I much prefer museums that allow visitors to actually walk 360 degrees around the aircraft at close proximity - the F-14 and F-35 look pretty closed-off.

Maybe we shouldn't have done it, but we climbed up the A-6 at the Naval Air Museum once after having lunch at the Cubi Club Restaurant. I was with an a prior A-6 driver and he wanted to show me something in the cockpit...

No one in a volunteers vest seemed to mind.

Where is this place? I have only ever been to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

take RT 28 north, off of 66W..., (Centreville Rd exit I think)

Quit giving them directions to my house!!!

I only live about 1.5 miles from Dulles and the museum, yet I have been to Udvar-Hazy only once.......:eek:

Another thing to note: No charge for admission, but they do charge for parking! (Though after 4pm parking is free.)
