Structure of the Marine Corps

I was wondering if you anyone can point me to some good sources in relation to the structure of the Corps. I am writing a paper for my social organization class. I want to concentrate on not only how the Corps is organized but also how promotions are determined and relate that to gender, race, and mos. Thanks

You can find the official promotion manual on the way the system is supposed to work for officers here:

There was a great publication put out by the Marine Corps University that broke down grades and promotions for every component of the MArine Corps by MOS, age, gender, race, time in service, and just about anything else you can imagine. I'll see if I can hunt it down in the next day or so.
