Why such a specific ask? Why India? Not sure if we have a PEP program going with them, but one never knows. There are potential negative career implications.

I will be honest...I love Indian food lol. But why are there negative career implications? My thoughts: Hmm, he went abroad and learned about a foreign naval service, what harm could that do?

It's true that the Indians operate the P-8, but they also operate the Su-30. Our common interest is containing China.

Trust, but verify.

Said every JO ever.

New guy, let me introduce you to The Man. He is going to hold you down and one day, if he gets his way, make you an O4. That sort of broad thinking is only gonna frustrate you as you're slowly assimilated into Navy middle management.

India just submitted their official request for -60R. Not sure if Lockheed has figured out the "Made in India" issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a PEP in-country in 5-6 years for training.

Take a look at the "Golden Path" and figure out where you can do a PEP tour (hint: it's not there). Most folks that do a PEP tour, do it while going "off-track". If you are not doing a production tour or flying, you are not on glideslope and are at peril of being a terminal fill-in-the-blank filling an all important non-flying staff tour.
