THank you so much for the answer!! Really appreciate it. Have a wonderful day.The TS process doesn't start until you've been selected by the board.

Not sure how it works for Intel, given you need to have a polygraph and all that. I’ll tell you this much. Having been through TS investigations both inside and outside of the DoD, I can tell you it will be significantly faster than you might think. I believe for me it took a total of 4-5 months after reporting to Pensacola. In any case, if that’s what you want to do, then you gotta just roll with whatever the requirements are. Biggest thing, if they ask you for paperwork or references and all that, the only thing you can do is submit everything as soon as possible, other than that is kind of out of your handsGood evening everyone!
I am AD3, would love to go to be an intelligence officer through OCS. For SF-86 form, I am not sure if they expect me to have the actual top secret clearance which might take years to get or am i just supposed to finish filling out the form, submitted and get investigation going on while i am in OCS? I am trying to apply for this upcoming board (feb), knowing whether I need top secret clearance before ocs or not is really important for me to decide if I should finish OCS package right now with interviews, recommendations, etc.. Thank you!
The most important thing is that your TS is submitted once you're accepted. It doesn't have to clear for a while. Not sure how it works for Intel, given you need to have a polygraph and all that. that makes me feel so much better! thank youThe most important thing is that your TS is submitted once you're accepted. It doesn't have to clear for a while.
My TS took the longest of my peers by a long shot (~9 months). Most folks cleared in less than 3 months, so its quicker than you think
thank you for telling your experience. Really appreciate that!I was selected for intel with no prior clearance. If I remember correctly, I had to fill out an SF-86 for a preliminary secret clearance to submit my package. Immediately after being notified of my selection, I was then told to start another more detailed SF-86 to start the process for my TS. I think my recruiter might have even told me to do this in the same email congratulating me on my selection.
Military clearances do tend to get cleared more quickly than others and with the intel pipeline being the way it is, it's likely that you won't even need a TS clearance for at least a year. So yeah, it will be processed in time. Nothing to worry about at all.
No. They have no plans of reinstating it. Big navy did not like it.Does anyone know if OHARP is going to be reinstated for SNAs post OCS any time soon?
The officer side was short on SWOs and it wasn't due to a shortage of applications so they did it to themselves in a way.It makes little sense to me that with an 8ish month wait time in Pensacola they wouldn't offer OHARP. Why not have the JO SNAs go help recruit while they wait to class up? The Navy missed their recruiting targets this year, so wouldn't having some young, bright-eyed officers to sell the lifestyle be exactly what they need?
Your command should have a security manager who is familiar with this process. Your clearance won’t be adjudicated for 6-12mos once it’s filed/approved.Good evening everyone!

I would stick to the pin-and-frog variety. Your SDBs will literally get picked over during the 8 week inspection.are the SDB's too thick for the magnetic backing ribbons? I know on the enlisted side the wool jumper doesn't work too well with them.
If they’re ready that is. We all had OPI in our whites, in December, in Newport…..I would stick to the pin-and-frog variety. Your SDBs will literally get picked over during the 8 week inspection.
