Hey, I've been lurking on this site for years but never posted anything. First time applying for OCS and just wanted to see how I compared to other people.

26 Male
6 years active duty
Supply/SWO
OAR 48
GPA 3.9 Business Finance Southern Illinois University Carbondale
Dean's List every semester (only 3 semesters without a 4.0)
LOR from Supply Commander (O-5), LPO while IA, Professors, and Academic Advisors.
Currently Completing an internship
At the very moment, medically disqualified but hoping to get a waiver in the next few days or week

I had applied to Sta-21 twice with the same results. Too often did I hear that although I'd be a good candidate, my high school grades suggested that I would not be able to withstand a rigorous college curriculum, but here I am. I got out of active duty on my own to pursue a degree so I could get right back at it. As far as what community I'd prefer, it really doesn't matter. I'd be grateful for just a spot at OCS. The NAVY could make me an MWR Officer for all I'm concerned and I would give it 100%

Your grades/numbers are solid, record of perseverence & positive attitude quite evident, and a big plus. You should be ready to roll when you get a thumbs up on your medical/waiver issue(s).:)

Everything looks good.

Who medically DQ'd you?

Who medically DQ'd you?[/quote]

After I had my physical at MEPS my OR told me that because I had sickle cell trait and the fact that I got 10% from the VA that I would need waivers. He was very confident that I would receive them though. I'm not exactly sure who DQ'd me but I remember him mentioning something about going through N3M or something similar

MEPS rarely makes calls like that, so it is normal for it to go to N3M

You have an outstanding and very competitive looking package. Great LORs and Evals. Why aren't you applying for the July board because correct me if I'm wrong, looking at the schedule I do not see any SNA/SNFO board in September?

Thank you for your comment. I will finish my degree on 25 August. I will have to submit for the IDC board in October. I was informed that my package would roll through to the next SNA board for review (whenever that ends up being).
