Switching from Ground to Air while waiting for TBS as ECP

Hello

So i am slated to go to OCS in September. After doing everything necessary for the package, with a qualifying ASTB and a Qualifying NAMI, I was not selected for an air contract and i am being sent as a ground contract.

Im prior enlisted and currently applying through ECP in the Marine Corps. After OCS, I will be coming back to my unit to wait for the next TBS class. Am I able to switch my contract while waiting for TBS after ive commissioned or would I have to compete for an air contract at TBS

Not sure about the wait between OCS and TBS but you can definitely compete for competitive air while at TBS. A big thing they take into account is your GPA in college not just your ASTB scores.

If you want comp air make sure you walk into TBS on day one telling your SPC that’s what you want, the harder you fight for it the more they’ll try and help you.
