I haven't gotten FINSEL orders. That's just what my recruiter is saying because I am still waiting for Intel and IP board results (they convene 02DEC)

Well either way your FINSEL wont come until about 3 weeks before you report. Some people have received them up until a day prior. the week of is even more common than a day prior though.

I will get more information to come closer to the end of DEC. Intel was my number 1 SWO/IP was my number 2 and SWO was my number 3. So my selection really depends on this upcoming board.

I received my first finsel four days before I left. I was penciled in for a class date and told to ignore it due to waiting on results from a supply board (that took 7 weeks to come out). I wasn't selected for supply at that time, and then they had to rush my finsel and everything because I had a week notice. Definitely always prepare for whatever date you're given, with the knowledge that you can get pushed up sooner as well. Get your affairs in order asap (family/financial/POA/etc)

Wise advice.

I’m currently projected for this date as well
My recruiter just told me:
"It'll be based on availability and the needs of the Navy. I don't foresee you leaving any sooner than March unless you request to. Right now they are assigning shipping for March so you'll more likely be April or May, but like I said I can request it once they give you a date. They have been asking for people to leave sooner this month and last so the opportunity to get 22MAR2020 is highly likely."

I really do not want to push it back any further so I am hoping they can keep me on the 22MAR. But by me delaying for the 02DEC board it's possible they push me back.

There is an OCS class board and facebook group for this date now!

Definitely possible. But also keep in mind that you could still end up in this class if the results of your first two boards come back in time and aren't favorable. But fingers crossed you receive positive news and pro rec Y's!

I will get results hopefully the week of the 15th, but definitely before Christmas. I am not getting my hopes up as I had to have a waiver. I've seen some people comment that waivers can have you immediately disqualified for certain programs :/

It just depends on the waiver!

I heard that they're pretty picky esp. about medical waivers but you may be alright! at least you have one pro rec Y that will get you in the fleet for sure as an officer.
That's my goal. Even if I get a Pro Rec N I still have SWO Pro Rec Y. I want to be an officer and serve, so I will take what I can get. Intel and SWO/IP were just programs that interest me and where I want to go career-wise.

As far as my medical waiver, its a condition I have that is currently in remission, but it does not affect my ability to perform in any way. I also have medication I can take as needed, but hardly ever need to.

In regards to training, does anyone know how comprehensive the swimming courses will be? I am primarily weight lifting and running, should I change my routine and mix in other things to prepare me?
