My recruiter just texted me that “the board is still in session”... can anyone confirm this ? It seems the board is not yet concluded ?

Maybe he knows someone at the command or has inside info. My OR said they don't normally disclose that information.

That make sense with 500 applicants. and probably more socially distant guidelines.

I hope the delay would be only a few days... because I am currently in the DEP program for enlist sailor as well and will be shipped out to boot camp on September 30th... the tricky thing is in this coming quarter there is no more space available for any enlist job in the navy. So if I roll
back my ship date I would have to wait till 2021 Jan and it is very likely I will have to change job.

Some members here have said six to eight weeks could be when we get notified. So you'll probably have to make some decisions if you get down to the wire.

The board once it starts rarely takes more than 1 business day, they take at most a few minutes for each application, it is the compiling the list of Y and N that will take time as well as many of the admin functions. The board date is also just an estimate, the board may have started Monday, or it could have been done last Thursday, or it could happen next Tuesday, it is all up to the board members and when they can all get together somehow. A recruiter, unless they have direct communication with the program manager (which is rare), will only be able to tell you when the board is supposed to convene and when results have been rec'd.

I have told this story before, but several years ago this board was getting similar post of "my recruiter said the board is meeting" or "my recruiter said the results are waiting on signature" and "Mr Celestine said the board is reviewing applications" or other similar type posts, of course the interesting thing was that the senior member was at my NRD for 2 days during this time not more than 50 feet from me. I asked him if they had finished the board before his trip and he said "no, we had this trip so we will get to it probably in the next week".

I am a prior with 13yrs of service. Back in August 2017 SWO board i was in. Started on a monday and same week by thursday i got a big N on my bupers online selection board status. That only took three days. Lol. Coping with the anxiety of waiting is eating away our souls and then there is still covid. Good luck everyone!

That 3 day wait must have sounds good compared to the 2-4 weeks we need to wait now. Still with 13 years of service you'll be a shoe in this time!

Do you think that there will be similar selection rates to the February board?

Given that people were pushed into this board from the previous board it would be reasonable to expect a lower selection rate, what could be a variable that isn't accounted for are those that applied for SWO and something else who were then picked up by the other designator.

Crazy question. Do you think the Navy is planning on another national shutdown in the fall? I am wondering if they will select at a higher rate to have a steady flow of personnel into OCS. Probably not though.
