Hey folks! ProRec - Y for me!

Any of you prior Navy Es able to talk about what you see in the SWOs from the enlisted side? Or want to share what your thoughts are in general about what you expect and want to do? I never really worked joint ops, just used your space on TDYs.

4 years USAF, 2008-2012, AFSC 9S100
OAR: 63
2.8 GPA - Anthropology - partial 2nd degree in human/computer interactions but I was sooo tired of school and it shows. Quit school to work FT.
LOR - only got an E7, my OR dropped the ball and tried to get my letters day of submission for NFO back in April ¯\(ツ)
Need to go to MEPS for my 3rd physical, last one is out of date. Super fun stuff
Last EPRs - 5/4/5 (I think USN equiv is EP/MP/EP?)

IF you are wondering about class dates. I got selected on the April 8 board, command did not send release date until 29April and now I am on the September 8 class. My counterpart who applied together with me is going to the July 28 class. That should give you guys an idea where you are sitting

This is inconsistent with what my recruiter has stated. Does this then mean that if selected for a second choice, you would still be reviewed for your primary choice?

It doesn't make sense to be considered for other designators if you already got selected for your top/preferred choice. It also screws over other applicants who are applying for those boards.

correct, if a person was selected for their second choice then they would be in a holding pattern until the board met for choice #1, if picked for choice #1 then you would be processed for that choice, if choice #1 is a no, then you would be processed for #2

I’m on the civilian side so I was curious to hear from any other civilians who got selected: when did your OR say to expect on average your FinSel letter to come in? Mine said 1-2 weeks from last Thursday.

I am not sure whether I am regarded as a civ applicant or not, but I was told around 6 weeks out from your stated class up date.

Good morning everyone, and congratulations to all the Pro Rec-Y folks in here. Can someone please explain to me how much weight the initial Pro Rec carries? Does this make it somewhat of a guarantee, or are the final approvals more difficult to get? Again, congratulations to everyone, and good luck throughout the rest of the process!
