SWO Prospects

I am a Homeland security graduate with a 3.64 gpa and had a 47 OAR score with 6 recommendations. I started my application process in January, but now it is obviously almost June. I was just wanting to get any thoughts on whether a prolonged timeline like this for the SWO pipeline is typical, especially because I have it as my first designator. I just want to serve, but I am relegated to studying Appendix Bravo and doing PT in the meantime. I initially considered intel, but I recognized quickly that the 47 OAR wouldn't make me competitive and I am just as motivated by a SWO career as I would be with intel.

I appreciate any thoughts and I hope to serve with you all soon!

Welcome to the forum. The "new guy/gal" posts are a bit discouraged otherwise there would be the same 10-20+ new posts each day. Check out the SWO OCS board forums, that will give you an unofficial pulse in terms of where you stack amongst the others.

While you're at it, check out the OCS prep forums, same thing, lots of tips, etc. that you can easily find.

Best of luck!

Makes sense! This has been a new process for me, but I was recommended this forum so I will certainly appreciate any insights from others and will continue to train in any way I can.

Thank you!
