CG isn't a carrier, CV is, and CVN is a nuclear carrier.
You'll start off doing 2 divo tours on different ships. The advantange of a carrier is that it's more relaxed and less anal. The wardroom has serving times and you can come and go, there's none of that gathering around a table at a certain time and having the Skipper walk in and say "Take your seats."
Again, even if you're not picked for aviation this time, I would reapply, because I little more time spent waiting on this end, could make a world of difference down the road.
