taking leave between API and Primary (USMC SNFO)

All leave requests for us are routed through MATSG; that said, you're gonna need permission from someone in the pool before you can actually submit the leave request. So if you're one of the guys who might get that "off week", give Officer Student Control (or whoever deals with that stuff at MATSG) a heads-up, then ask about leave when you check into TRAWING 6

^^hmm, I talked to officer student control today, and he told me that we don't really have anything to do with MATSG-21 once we're in API (in terms of requesting leave, submitting ORM, etc).

It kind of goes both ways, for the most part once in API you won't have much to do with MATSG but there are some things that do need to go through over there since you are still technically under that COC. For simplicity most things go through Major M*** thats correct, he is the senior Marine over there but its more of a liason. Anyway all leave is dealt with through your training wings so check there. Go talk to them...

IMHO it would be better to keep specific peoples names off the site, such things can be handled by PM if you want, might as well practice OPSEC early...

That's right...there are so few Marines in TW-6 I tend to think of them as having a connection with MATSG. The Senior Marine in your chain of command deals with it....who that will be once you graduate API, I don't know.

ok, after kinda going on a scavenger hunt (every person i talked to directed me to someone else, who directed me to someone else...), i found the answer posted on the door of one of the student control offices of TRAWING 6.

it said that API students should not even inquire about taking leave until checked into TRAWING 6.


and if anyone else is ever wondering, yes, the aforementioned Major is the POC for any stuff like leave, ORM, etc, WHILE you are in API as a Marine.
