If something has to fall off, better the window than the tail section - almost nothing you can do in this situation. (53's were noted in the past for the folding section being a weak link.)
I watched the tail fall off of a 53 in Sig back in 02 after a hard landing/bounce back into the air. Can confirm it was no bueno. Parts flying everywhere and people scurrying out of the dying helo as it beat itself to death on the ground.
