Thanks for the help Turkey

Why don't you have a seat right over there.
Britain really is to blame for a big part of this mess over there. Iraq was their territory as was the land currently known as Israel, formerly Palestine. It is sad and ironic that the rest of the world blames the US for it, when we had very little to do with it back then, if anything at all.

As for Turkey, this will not help them join the "cool kids" table in Europe, but who know's. Maybe they are using this as leverage saying behind closed doors "we will continue to bomb until you become our friend" some countries in Europe just might buy that and cave...time will tell

Oh indeed. Lets not forget that former Brit possession, and stalwart ally in the GWOT, Pakistan. Imagine if that country was just another state of India, where moderate Islam is the mean.

Seems like Kurdish is the new Jewish.:(

For that statment to be accurate, efforts against them have to be non-coordinated, ineffective, and ultimately reflective of domestic issues...

PKK = Hamas in so much as they do more long term harm than any short term feel-good for the kicked-arounds in question.

as opposed to why it's ALWAYS been screwed up"[/I]

Was it screwed up pre-WWI / pre-Crimea / pre-"Sick Old Ottoman Man of Europe?"

Nice to see that Turkey and Iran are getting along fine and dandy, coordinating attacks, and sharing intel on the Kurds. Seems like Kurdish is the new Jewish.:(

It s a lot more complex than that, both countries have Kurdish terrorist groups on their territory that target their armed forces. Couple that with the relative free hand the groups have in the wilds of Kurdistan, Iraq, what else do you expect them to do?

The Kurds in northern Iraq, that have their own functioning government, armed forces and even an American University, aren't going away anytime soon.
