Is this a joke? Or just poorly worded? So you are saying that there have been studies that demonstrated that Swedish Snus have not been proven to cause cancer. Do you really need a study for that?

Not a joke. The Swedes have the highest use of smokeless tobacco use (snus) in the EU and the lowest rate of oral cancer in the EU. It's because of the way it is prepared. US smokeless tobacco is fire cured, whereas Swedish snus is pasteurized which lowers the carcinogen rate. Its actually labeled as a food product in Sweden (very few additives when compared to US dip).

I'm not saying it completely safe, but its 1 million times better than dip.

Sometimes I have trouble clearing both ears via the valsalva maneuver, and I have a history of waxy ears, without any other ear/sinus issues. Could waxy ears make it tough to clear your ears? Should I make a trip to the family doctor or pick up some wax removal before I head to OCS and flight physical?

You probably need to use an ear wax removal kit. Wal-Mart. And, yea, if there is enough wax on the eardrum, it will make it harder to clear your ears.

I need a "flight surgeons' memo" for some reserve crap, since I don't have a current flight physical.

The two docs I talked to, have no idea what the fuck that is. My google-fu is weak, I keep on getting waivers and stuff like that.

You might want to be a little more specific. Either you're TMPQ because you need PHA/medical visit or you're not "med up" and need to see a flight doc. Otherwise, not sure what you're getting at. TMPQ can also be dealt with out in town and then you turn your paperwork in to the Reserve unit you're associated with.

I would have an up chit, but my medical expired while I was on terminal leave. So I am guessing the TMPQ thing. I still don't speak reserve yet do I have no idea what the hell they wanted.

I would just ask them what the issue is. If you're "medical indeterminate" or "TMPQ," you need some sort of physical. I'd just ask them what they need for you to get you whatever status you're looking for. Again, you're going to have to be more specific here about what the problem is to get more info.

As for learning Reserve speak, start now if you want to play. Take notes at Indoc. Just because it's new and different doesn't mean it's not your responsibility figure out the system.

The package required just states flight surgeon memo. Going to have to do more research when I have more than my work blackberry for web surfing.

Tap sucks for explaining this stuff. Ten hours of the "Virginia Employment Commission" trying to convince you they are the only way to gain employment, and nothing on the reserves.

When you get to a real computer, explain a bit more. What package, for what program, etc. Otherwise no one has a clue what the issue is.

i've tried to find this and I know the answer is probably no, however, are current PE Tubes waiverable? I've been freaking out about my lack of valsalva and an ENT doc keeps recommending I get them.

Any docs, I was diagnosed by my flight surgeon as having GORD yesterday. He stated that if I continue to take a ppi for it that I'd need a waiver to continue flying. As a SNFO, and on my last stretch of primary, how many of these waivers are ever disapproved? I ask because if I can manage my symptoms using OTC antacids then no waiver is required. I want to make sure I'm not shooting myself in the foot. If I need to just marginally control my symptoms until I get wings then that's the route I'll take. Because it's my understanding (probably wrong though) once winged the chances of something relatively minor as this would get readily approved. Thanks in advance.
