Stennis (CVN 74) as an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Flying Eagles" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 122 flies over the landing area. Stennis and multiple embarked fleet replacement squadrons are conducting Fleet Replacement Squadron Carrier Qualifications (FRSCQ) off the coast of Southern California. FRSCQ's are conducted to qualify naval aviators in day and night carrier operations in the aircraft they will fly during their aviation career. This is of course a copy of the June 1990 Approach cover. Hey Joe took this, I just think his stuff is great. No nonsense real everyday naval aviation.

Great photo. I happens to be misnamed as it's not in the break. Technically, he's at the initial (or just a bit inside). Actually, he looks a tad high, he's probably in low holding.
