Finally getting around to throwing some pics up here. These are from the Thunder Over Michigan airshow from July. The gentleman pictured with the Corsair is a Naval Aviator who flew Hellcats and Corsairs during WW2. He was holding a picture of himself next to a Hellcat.

Boy... that's one mighty queer lookin' Cobra....
 
I remember those days, being able to sleep anywhere. I could sleep on a pallet of 82's, Phoenix crates were the best and of course the intake of an F-14 was very comfy! In P-3's of course there was plenty of good sleeping with the bunks in back. There was this one time we're coming back from a TORPEX at Whidbey and a buddy of mine wakes me up holding a parachute. He's yelling at me that we lost 3 of 4 engines and the A/C CDR. gave the order to ditch. I was hang'n big time and strapped myself in that chute in record time. No sooner I look fwd. towards the cockpit and everyone is laughing at me! Was I pissed. Now, the dog barks and I can't fall back to sleep!
