Anyone have a recommendation for a leather jacket tailor in the Northern Virginia (NoVA) or DC Metro area? Thanks.

I like Bedo’s Leather Works in Falls Church VA. Here is their email: Bedos@cox.net.

It is a small hike to get out there, but their work is good. They rehabbed an old jacket for me and did great work.

Recent pic from Naval Aviation News showing the Air Boss in what appears to be a WEP style flight jacket!

Looking for recommendations for places that do leather name tapes and will sew the name patch on to the G1 and possibly sew in some pockets on the sides under the stock pockets (I have seen this before but was told it was done overseas) in the Jax area. Thanks for the help!

If you're looking for a name tape, I wouldn't go with anything other than tipsy gypsy, then find a place that will do a good job of putting it on. There really is not better place than that for the name tag.

I also have a Tipsy Gypsy name tag, and I do love it. However, waiting 1.5 years was a real bummer. I'm not normally a fan of Wings and Things in Pensacola, but they too make nice name tags of at least comparable quality to Tipsy Gypsy at least cosmetically and without the wait. I was very pleased with how they sewed it on as well - completed it right in front of me.

Wait for TG; totally worth it. Although the Wings and Things nametag was a decent second and ended up getting sewn on to my green jacket.

Having seen both definitely wait for the TG one. Yes the wait sucks but order it when you start flight school and you won’t be disappointed.

I've actually been to TG's house and workshop, quite an operation. "Sometimes", you can make an inquiry to those guys directly and see when/if there is a gap in their production timeline and maybe squeeze-in an impromptu order. Historically, there is a 42% chance this tactic works . . . .

Just finished flight school but it seems that the general consensus is to wait so my name is now on the list. Now need to find somewhere to put normal jacket pockets in under the stock pockets.

I posted a place in VA Beach that does it earlier in this thread. Highly recommended, even if you have to ship it up there. You only get one leather jacket, don’t fuck it up by being a cheap ass (not to you specifically).
