If you want a chance at some slight semblance of control in what you select, you should try to get the best grades you can. Hence the interpretation of the question, "Can I get away with mediocre grades?" as douchey/retarded.

+10000, I have yet to meet the mythical "guy who wants E2/C2's" in the tailhook pipeline that everyone keeps talking about. I heard there might be one in Krock....

I heard some guy named D_Rob wanted 'em. I dunno...don't want to start a rumor or anything...:D

I'm not sure we want D_Rob, if that is his real name.

Stop. I don't mean stop your dream of driving the mighty Greyhound. Keep the dream, work hard where you can (i.e. get good grades and stay out of trouble so you can select SNA), and work hard at the next place when you get there. That's all you can do. When you were in HS, did you worry about how you were going to get selected to be company commander in your 2/c year at your NROTC unit? Of course not, and even if you knew or cared, I hope you were too busy trying to get in to college, trying to get laid, and trying to make the football/basketball/swim/underwater hockey/badminton/chess team.

Save the worrying for when it matters. Otherwise you risk burning yourself out. Just keep the dream sans worrying for now.

What beans said. Study/get good grades in college for now, and shut the fuck up about flight school until you're a first class. Otherwise, you might end up with mediocre grades and get "stuck" with P-3's.

I'll be honest, have loftier goals than the COD. Going COD's is or used to be the make upper for getting E2/C2. The thinking was well, if I'm going to fly boring, twin engine turbo-props, might as well live on the beach, drink beer and hit on women. The overall leadership in the COD community is weak, especially after seeing the command select boards. My .02 after being a COD driver for over 8 years.

cum-humper...guys with mediocre grades get UAV's now...all the motivation you need! :)

actually cum-humper is what some of my buddies call me. thanks for all the advice guys. even though some were more blunt than others. but i took it all in a positive way. my grades right now are good enough (i think) and i'm actively involved in my unit as well. so i guess im on the right track. is the navy really going to be getting uav pilot slots??? tell me it ain't so...

Douche? I didn't say anything bad about props. Thats what upperclassmen told me. No need to get offended P-3 guy.

While at ERAU wasting your money make sure and take a class on the care a maintenance of your self-check mode. Your attitude falls right in the middle of douche and borders on full retard.

With all due respect sir, none of the previous statement and comments I've made make me a douche or retard. I was just clearly trying to figure out what route I had to take in order to achieve what I want out of life. I seriously don't know why you felt the need to say that.
