I am wondering if any of you could help me find 3 view spec sheets on the C-2. Years ago they were in the 2-1 manual. I am looking for the ones that have all of the station lines and water lines for the top and side views. I remember there also being pictures of cross sections of the fuselage and nacelles. I also need to know the throws for the control surfaces.

I am in the process of building a 1/8 scale radio controlled C-2. Anything you could come up with would be greatly appreciated.

Would that be the first radio controlled model of a C-2? It's such an ugly pig and it fly's like it looks, nobody has ever built a model of it that I know of. I hear that a company is coming out with a 1/48 model next year.

I have never seen an R/C model of a C-2 probably for the reasons you stated. I grew to like it while I was stationed at VRC-30.

Resurrection time? Can an ol' C-1A Trader Ships COD driver post some adventures of two combat deployments on the USS MIDWAY (CVA-41) ...1971-'72? Even as a "pointy-nose" on a Ship's Co. tour, it was some of the most interesting, challenging & fun flying of my career!

She was "Schoolboy 700" aka "Easy Way Airlines", and she rests in retirement today, on the flight deck of her old home in Sandy Eggo. She has been to some strange & exotic places!

Thanks for the memories... and for all the precious mail cargo from home during that 11-month cruise!

How about those 'neato' RONs at Nakhon Phanom so you guys & the A-7 drivers could brief with the Bird Dog FACs...........OR..........RON 2s in Hong Kong to arrange CAG/Sqdn parties/Admins. The night, sh**ty WX, non-intrepreted Chinese language GCA at (Ye Olde) Kai Tak Int'l, steep approach path to avoid buildings, could drive a flight crew & Pax to drink...and usually did, good times!:)

BzB I have a co-worker who deployed from the Miday from 69 to 84, he was an AE1 for F4s and E2Cs, his first tour F4s with VF151 and ended with the EC2 in 84. His first tour was with VQ1 in country.

I know, buddy was a TS with VF151 in that time frame, believe he was an AE2 at that time. He has told me some awsome stories from the Q and the Viggies, I do swear I was born a decade too late! :)

If he was an AE Trouble Shooter of that cruise, I certainly knew him. And proud to serve with him. I even probably had him in my F-4 backseat for a few hops out of Atsugi as a good deal for our guys. Our TS guys were absolutely incredible! Unsung heroes, except to a few who remember and will never forget...

Aside from the outrageous approach, HGK was good times. But NKP?
Yikes, the bad guys used to shoot at us people over there!

PS: I used to be 6'4". But after pulling all those many Gs for so many years, I am now short for my old weight at 5'8". Therefore I can't fit into my shit-hot anymore. How you can is amazing! BZ!

While our C-2 crews venerate your beloved 'Greyhounds' , save a little love for your ol'
retired Daddy, the C-1A. The "Pony Express"-like 'Trader' carried mail/supplies & personnel to/from the fleet for decades prior to C-2 introduction.:)

They also unretired for Linebacker II in '71-'72, to carry the ball, when the new COD was placed on a fleet-wide 'injured reserve' grounding due to propellor issues.

A salute to our (USS MIDWAY's) C-1A "SchoolBoy 700", aka 'Easy Way Airlines'!
