Which engine did Hawaiian get with their order? I’ve seen a couple of yours while passing through LAX. Looking forward to flying it when we get it. Rumor true that it has a really fucking long engine start?

I can only assume it has composite blades similar to the max. If thats true, then yes, the motors will take fooooooooorrrrreeeeeeevvvvvvvvver to start.

I believe we have P&W. I haven't stepped foot in one yet and I'm trying to delay the experience...no bunk when non-reving/deadheading...

I'll never fly it because it would be a pay cut. F' that.

But I do hear the Neo pilots bitching about the engine start times.

That A220 looks like a a B737-700 killer. Economy, comfort, something designed this century.

I've always heard that the reason that Boeing did not upgrade the 73 cockpit was because Southwest pushed hard to have a common cockpit.

The MAX9’s I have been flying burn about the same in the low 30’s as the 700 in the high 30’s to low 40’s. The MAX9 holds 179 PAXs, the 700 holds 118-126 depending on the seat configuration.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. This is the same company that wanted to fly classics, next gens, and max on a common type.

Up front it's still so necked down from the 50's aerodynamics that it'd be pretty cramped no matter what they did. Having the mondo CB panels up there doesn't help, either. The max is slightly less noisy up front, but it's not quiet by any stretch. I was surprised that the 321 guys I jumped home with wore just an ear piece until I realized how quiet FiFi was at cruise.

Having a table is a nice touch, too.

Do not underestimate the awesomeness that would be not dealing with people or the pax terminal idiocy.

I'd fly nights for that.

My technique for dealing with pax is to apologize and tell them that I’m new, and it’s only my second day on the job and suggest that one of the food court employees would probably know the answer to their question.

For those of you interested in jumping to the cargos, or a stepping stone, want widebodies and don’t want to deal with needy Pax or chatty flight attendants at 4am, here’s a comparison of the Cargo realm.

Two corrections. Wide body pay incorrect. Not sure how they came up with $275. Maybe I missed that but widebody Caps are 300+ and all widebody FOs 200+. Maybe a little less for some new guys..
Also says business class for those travel parameters. Those parameters trigger first class.

We also fly a lot of days! Except 757, they still own the night but they have some day flying but the majority is widebody. Except 777.. They have some day time departures but most their day stuff is deadheads.
