I understand the ribbons, but what do all those different colored E's and an H with the stripes underneath them mean?

Departmental "Excellence" proficiency awards from Squadron readiness tests/inspections. Red is Engineering Dept if memory serves- (it's been 25 years). Hashmarks below letter are for each repeat award, again- I think.

The Green H is Medical/Health, I believe. Red E is engineering, Green E is CIC, Yellow E is Safety. There's also a Blue E for Supply and Purple E for something else, never knew what it was.

Hashmarks indicate consecutive awards - note their Black E has a hashmark painted out below it, which means they won it two years in a row, then didn't at least one year, then got it again.

Holy shit, I know that guy. He was in my company at the Boat School. The fact that he's a Hinge, a Shoe Hinge, and winner of the Shoe Hinge Awesomeness Award is pretty damn funny. I don't know what the hell that caption means, though.

Haha, dude was my Plebe Summer Co Officer.

"Alright guys, listen up: things have changed around here and you can't say WUBA anymore."
"What's WUBA?"
"Don't worry about it."

^ Haha, Bob Barwis :D

Commodore Bob (Barwis) is DA MAN.

It sucks that we're switching to a completely different DESRON (coughcoughDESRON2cough). I personally enjoyed working for him, especially when I was stashed. At least he didn't micromanage us like others out there...

I have a good impression of him between him and the old CO but due to its nature I probably shouldn't mention it. Needless to say though it was funny.

Kudos to the first aviator who can identify the error between the caption and the picture! I would give some rep points to the winner, but I'm still powerless.

I googled PACFIRE: http://www.google.com/search?q=PACFIRE :)

(Maybe I should be doing something more productive right now like drinking instead of playing on the internet)

edit: Doh! I got sucked in to pre-aim vs pre-action fire... I think A4s is right, so do I get a booby prize instead?
