Well yeah I got that, the first time he told me, but I was making reference to how bsubdevils doesn't leave for a year after me and already knows, thought that was weird. Oh well.

I was told when I was sworn in to BDCP 2 years ahead of time and sure enough, it changed like crazy. Any number of things can happen between then and now.

When I swore in March of 2006, I was told by my recruiter (and in my acceptance letter) that I was to report June 9th (granted it said, 2006, but it was corrected to 2007).

I reported June 9th.

BDCP selects you for a certain fiscal year, so there is no reason they can't give you a tentative date 2-3 years in advance (they did, me). I never got "official" word (read: orders) until I drove from CA to AZ to my recruiter to pick them up on my way to OCS.

What had happened was my class date on my contract (June 1st) didn't in fact exist and I needed a new one. At first, it was a possiblity of leaving May 10th or May 24th (College Graduation is May 3rd). But it ended up being June 14th. Thank God.

Yeah, I just looked at my orders again and all they say is, "Your length of assignment is approximately 11 months with an expected graduation date of Dec 2008." Oh well, Im just going to plan on leaving early Jan.

Ah, good to know it will probably change...I mean I should know by now how things go, been reading this site long enough. But eh, yeah, we'll see! I wouldn't mind some extra time after classes end to unwind...it would be nice to not go to RI in January anyways! Holy cold!

It won't be any worse than Boise-freaking-Idaho!!! Winters here suck too, Pensacola can't come soon enough.
Be careful what you wish for ... you will get your fill of thick humid air and flat ground pretty quick and find yourself missing mtns and snow.
