Oh boy, I don't think I even want to know.Production values certainly seem higher than the WTI documentary series from a couple years ago!
3. I was also interested to see that the best SNA of the group, the female Marine captain, picked F-18’s over F-35’s that all the other Marines apparently got.
Makes sense.I’d have done the same. Actually I guess I kinda did on the USN side. Writing is on the wall that it’s going away rather soon, so might as well fly it while you can…..plenty of career left for F-35 (or Super Hornet in my case)
This isn't necessarily correct - Marines haven't gone in a long time, they stopped sending Navy jet studs back in 2024, and a Navy jet SNA who went med down after failing the boat actually went back and qual'd this year. Hawkeye SNAs continue to go and will probably sundown the jet when the replacement gets phased in around the year 2069. I'm guessing this documentary was filmed a year or two ago at least?I'm just now realizing that these students are some of the first to not go to the boat as an SNA.
I can’t help but feel a touch bad for them in this respect. Winning cures all though as they say, if they don’t suck it will just be a funny story. If they do…Really good aerial cinematography. May have created some baggage for some as fleet FNGs. Not made for this audience, and that's okay. Three out of five stars.
I'm sure the five aviation nerds that recognize them at the bar will be worth the ensuing hazex waiting at their first fleet squadron.I can’t help but feel a touch bad for them in this respect. Winning cures all though as they say, if they don’t suck it will just be a funny story. If they do…
Gotta get that multi-engine time for the airlines later in life.I finished it tonight. My closing thoughts are this:
1. The “drama” was unnecessary.
2. I found it interesting that no one appeared to be assigned to Growlers.
3. I was also interested to see that the best SNA of the group, the female Marine captain, picked F-18’s over F-35’s that all the other Marines apparently got.
Something I never would have thought of!Gotta get that multi-engine time for the airlines later in life.
