The Air Force Association website reports that the House Appropriations Committee has inserted language prohibiting the USAF from retiring or taking preparatory actions to retire the U-2 in FY2026 as the Air Force plans to do. For whatever reason, the Air Force has not gotten its way with Congress when trying to retire or shed itself of the A-10 and now perhaps U-2, while the Navy is finding some “success” sunsetting or sidelining the LCS, Mark VI, Cyclone-class, and Tico-class.

The A-10 really needs to go to the boneyard though. The A-10 lore is becoming worse than the F-14 lore. It's an airplane I'd love to fly and take to the range, but not to combat.
