I am not sure if anyone has posted this, but I am pretty sure it hasn't been. I talked with Ed Straten today and for all of us BOOSTERS: we start BOOST on Feb 24 and grad on May 23. I am sure you know that. We then will start NSI on May 26 and grad on July 18. I hope this helps at least a few people

That's awesome because that means I'll have atleast 5 weeks off between NSI Grad and beginning classes at ODU, sweet!! :D

Just play it safe and don't expect anything to transfer. Every school is different. ODU accepted +30 transfer credit, and University of Colorado only accepted 6 credits. I just wrote my degree plan out as if NOTHING transfered and then everything that does is extra credit. I submitted my degree plan to CNET with zero transfer credit, and they thought it was fine.

By the way, who else here is planning on going to U of Colorado?

FYI. I'm at the U of Colorado right now. I'm graduating this May, if you have any questions you can ask me here (though I don't really check that often), or you can go to www.ocmess.com and get in touch will the current OC's there.

CU does not accept ANY credits from SMART, or NSI. I'm in the College of Engineering so it may be a little different if you go A&S. If you have specific questions, just let me know.

Does anyone know how NSI graduation works? Is it a kick in the ass, go to college kind of thing, is there a ceremony? My family is curious and I cant find that info anywhere.

There is a ceremony. They will give you the info about it when you get there.

I went through last year...
I showed up and checked in a couple days before the RNT date in jeans and a collared shirt. If you are going to BOOST though, I would recomend showing up in your working blues since that is what you will be wearing the whole time. If you are going straight to NSI, the uniform of the day will be bootcamp PT gear untill you get your new uniforms.

Was there a seabag inspection during your time at NSI?

(Fall '04) Not really. No one checked for the old enlisted uniforms you are supposed to bring. But if you get dropped you will need them. As for all the new uniforms you will go to the uniform shop as a company and buy everything off of their list that you didn't bring with you. After that you will never have a seabag inspection but you will have about one uniform inspection a week, each time in a different uniform.

I was wondering about satellite schools and if your able to go to them if you are part of a local NROTC at a larger college? I remember back a few months ago someone said I could but I am not sure how about to go along with this. Any information would be helpful.

How about you call Ed Straten with an important question such as this. Are you in NSI right now? This might be some information you want to get.. ummm.. yesterday.

Most major Colleges and Universities have what are called "Cross-town affiliates" which are smaller schools in the local area that don't have their own ROTC programs and instead have their ROTC-wannabe students become a part of the Major school's ROTC unit and train and drill with them...
