Updated list of things to bring?

I like New Balance. Unfortunately, the model I currently wear is only available in obnoxious colors. These look pretty good and are nice and cheap:

They might be great for guys but I'm a girl ;) , plus I've learned that one should never be frugal on a pair of running shoes. I love my shoes so much I'll take the chance of being picked on, the other girls in my class will probably have bright shoes too, plus some of the guys

Okay, I was going to hold off on asking about this stuff until I have an actual OCS date, but this conversation has prompted me to start writing up a pack/do-not-pack list. Should I bring any of the following?
  • Sunglasses
  • "School supplies" (Notebooks, pencils, index cards, etc.)
  • Mesh shower sponge
  • Enough soap/shampoo/razor blades/etc. for the full 12 weeks? Or do I only bring enough to last until we get access to the NEX?
  • Over-the-counter medication (Tylenol, cold medicine, etc.)
  • Other medicine cabinet items (lozenges, IcyHot cream, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Civilian clothes beyond what I walk into OCS wearing
  • Laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc.
  • Cash (and if so, how much?)
Apologies in advance if any of these are stupid questions, but I figure it's better to ask than to bring something I shouldn't (or not bring something I should). Thanks!

Edit: Added a couple more I thought of.

I also don't have a date yet but in the packet your recruiter should have given you after selection there should be a list, no non-prescription medication (you can ask for some Tylenol or something if needed), and no bulky stationary, although I'm not sure what is considered bulky. I can't answer the rest, and maybe someone that has actually been knows better, that's just what I read

I didn't get any kind of packet. I expect to speak with my OR on Monday, I'll ask him about it. I've been going mostly by reading threads on this board and reading the OCS website.

Sunglasses: no. Unless you want to wear them the day you walk out in civvies.
Civvies other than what you're wearing the first day: maybe. You'll obviously have a chance to wash your first-day civvies by the time you walk out, but I lost quite a bit of weight there and my jeans didn't fit anymore, so I bought some stuff at the NEX for my last day.
Toiletries to last you 12 weeks: probably not. Maybe 6 weeks, tops.
OTCs, IcyHot: Pretty sure that stuff is contraband, but like givemeinfo said, you can get it free at sick call if you need it.

Ah ok, I'm sure you'll get a couple booklets when you go, but it just has the basics of what to bring and not to bring

Once you started using a mesh sponge, showering isn't just the same anymore.

Not tighty whities
The wisdom to buy more commissioning photos than made sense (if you have more than one woman in your life, you seriously can't have enough). Seriously, just drop the dough and get lots of photos printed out.

Was recently selected for the 06APR2014 OCS class date. When looking up things I need to bring, confusion set in. I'm married so they are asking for marriage certificate, birth certificate, drivers license, etc. My question is, how do I bring my wife's official license when she will be needing them to drive? May be a silly question so please don't beat up with the answer

Not a stupid question at all. I can't remember for sure, but I think they wanted my wife's actual license. You need it to enter her into DEERS and get her health benefits. You do that one of the first days, so you can send it back right away. You can bring a passport in place of a drivers license, which is what I did. If you and your wife don't have them, you should just go ahead and do it. They will definitely come in handy throughout your military career.
