Another thing to consider, would you even want that same job again after being a naval officer for 4+ years? For certain jobs with pensions, tenure, rigid salary tiers, or seniority perks - like 1811 FLEO, public school teachers, or airlines - it makes sense. For most corporate world jobs where they are hiring lots of folks anyways it doesn’t matter. If anything, leave on a good note, reapply to the same job later with more experience and asking a higher salary. Or stay in the Navy. Or get out but go elsewhere.
