Nothing to lose by applying. This is my second try, but I finished my Master's end of last year. All my LORs are current or retired military of various ranks and branches. Maybe discuss with your recruiter?Hello everyone,
I am reapplying for a 3rd time. I went back to school to finish my masters degree and since completing school I look forward to trying again. I did very well on my interviews previously but am always looking to
Improve. The last time I applied was in Spring of 24 I believe. I just resubmitted all of my paperwork and am approaching 40. The last few times I had supervisors and assistant directors I previously worked for (government job) write my letters of recommendation. Does anyone recommend meeting with their congressman or senator to get a LOR? Thank you and best of luck to you all.
For those who were picked up in recent years, I have a question about AT. If you have approved orders for AT and you are selected, do you still go to your AT or does dropping your enlisted billet drop your orders as well? My AT is in Hawaii... wouldn't mind still going.
Putting together my packet for my 1st attempt for a 1835 IW slot. My friend who recently graduated from ODS told me not to expect to be selected as intel in the reserves, as it is bloated. My recruiter thinks I am extremely qualified, in addition to having strong letters of recommendation. I do, however, feel very nervous about my board.
Wishing everyone luck!
Thank you for the reply! I think I have around 4 years of relevant work experience, with an additional 3 of direct leadership experience managing others. I have a BA in PoliSci and an MS in International Relations with a focus on American National Security. I do believe I am a strong applicant, but I remain cautious and keep my head on a swivel for the board.Rule of thumb for any DCO program is at least 5-10+ years of relevant work experience along with graduate education and certs (if applicable). IWC/Reserve Intel seems to be a bit more "relaxed" with this, and there have been candidates selected who don't fit the normal mold of an applicant. Though, your best chances are to align with the DCO program authorization and what they specifically look for/desire.
