USNA Curriculum - Plebe Year

I see that the curriculum at USNA requires chemistry and Calc 1 the first semester. What if one took AP Cal (especially BC) in high school as well as AP Physics, or took such classes in college previously? Can one take Calc 2 and Physics 1 in addition to Chem the first year?

And, what if you want to major in electrical engineering? How is this possible with all the other courses required and not starting the engineering sequence until your second year?

Do midshipman take 6 classes per semester rather the usual 5 that most college students take?

Welcome to the forum. First and foremost, did you check out the USNA website? I found a section on both AP/IB validation as well as the Elec eng program.

Might be worth your time to dive head first on there to learn more. Best of luck!
