And when an aviator brought up this issue, he/she got gang-tackled by all the SWOs. As if the fact they make you display your rank over there wasn't already a strong enough incentive to just lurk and not post anything.
I would argue SailorBob isn't a total reflection of the SWO community. Talking to junior and senior SWOs outside of that page, they too agree now is NOT the time to speculate what happened and/or who's at fault. Bigger picture, many SWOs are not too fond of the page either and believe it's a channel for O-4s and O-5s (probably the majority of the population) to network, establish dominance on one another like male dogs, and kiss a** and make it to the next paygrade.
At the same time, I'm sure there are aviators and even other non-SWOs going to Facebook and other social media channels dissecting their own claims as to what happened that night. I'm sure that sort of unprofessional behavior isn't a reflection of their respective community.
In the end, I hope all 7 Sailors are found alive and in due time find out the root cause/s of what caused that incident.
