Somehow Brett and I end up on different sides of nearly every issue, but we both always disagree with you. I don't know how it's possible.
BTW, that goes both ways. I could just as easily say that Brett and I disagree on much, yet we both also disagree with you. Or that you and I disagree on much, yet to Brett we're both wrong.

I do believe that shit is about to go down.
"Ethnically-cleansing" Gaza? And the current political party in charge "fascist"? The BS is strong on this one.

What do you think Israel sees as the end goal? What does Palestine, Hamas, EVERYONE ELSE see as the end goal?

This is a conflict that goes back thousands of years (historians generally agree on 5000 years as a stake in the sand in).

You really think Israel, or Hamas, or anyone else involved sees anything less than eradication of their enemies as victory?

Israel has nukes, they're democratic and western, so we're allied with them. But we're not fighting Hamas with them.

I THINK (caps for emphasis) that we've got 2 CSGs an ARG, and EVERY CENTCOM UNIT LOADED FOR BEAR, to ensure that IF the Arab world decides to unit against Israel, AND they somehow start to kick Israel's ass, that Israel, facing extinction of Jews in the Holy Land, won't use nukes. We're also ensuring we can kill those who want to take pot shots at Americans in the area.

But we're really referees ensuring that Israel and Hamas fight it out amongst themselves like they have for the last thousands of years, and don't do anything stupid. Neither side in this war is good or bad. Look at what is happening here in America. Why are we surprised that Americans of Palestinian descent hate Americans of Jewish descent and vice versa? It's not like they moved here and suddenly changed their mind.

Israel sees the destruction of the terrorists as a victory, not the genocide of the Palestinians. The Palestinians however will not accept anything less than the complete destruction of the Jewish state as victory.

I don't agree with that. While no side is perfect, I'd say the Israelis can much more easily be placed on the side of good and the Palestinians on the side of bad. The one side has created a thriving, free, democratic and prosperous society, and has offered peace multiple times, the other continues to desire violence and destruction.

He gets a lot more right than he gets wrong.
Not really. He is basically making a moral equivalence between the two, and I just love the nonsense about Islam says to not kill women and children, this from a guy from one of the most oppressive states to women's rights in the world. He engages in the typical act of the Israel haters of utilizing the most harsh rhetoric possible, i.e. "fascist," "ethnic cleansing," by others, "genocide," "apartheid," etc...if Israel was really intent on any of that, then they've got to be the worst genocidal country in history as they possess the means to lay utter waste to the Palestinians yet don't. The Palestinians on the other hand, for claiming they want "self determination" and all that, sure do a terrible job of showing it. Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005 to let them do this, and since it has only brought terrorism, further world condemnation, and the Palestinians using all the concrete given them for infrastructure to build a network of tunnels into Israel.

At this point in the game, just stop talking. You have no idea what you're talking about.

So explain to me where I'm wrong.
The nice thing about this forum is that it's mostly Navy Officers, the vast majority being pilots/NFOs... So there is a sort of baseline for competence, work ethic, education, and understanding of things like that you shouldn't just talk out of your ass, but go and learn about a topic before forming strong opinions about it and debating with others.

Perhaps instead of your "throw some guesses and half-baked ideas out there and then rely on people to correct me" approach, you could try researching topics first. You might also find it better to just read and observe sometimes, rather than pontificating on every point whether you know anything about it or not.

So explain to me where I'm wrong.
For starters, it’s not the simple “offer of peace” from Israel that you seem to think. Israel, under Benjamin Netanyahu, fomented a two-party politic in Palestine, propping up Hamas against the more moderate Palestinian Authority. This kept people divided and repressed. There is also ample evidence of Israel funneling hundreds of millions of dollars through Qatar to- again- prop up Hamas in an attempt to keep Palestine divided. To say nothing of Israel intentionally creating an intelligence blind-spot for itself in the process and having provided some of the funding that is now being used against itself.

I think Netenyahu’s done. It may take a little while due to the current state of armed conflict, but I doubt you’ll see him or his party coalition re-elected.

There’s plenty more where that came from, but- while terrorism deserves no quarter- neither side in this conflict is innocent, and neither side is completely wrong from their own point of view. It’s far less one-sided than you allege.

My advice is to read more, and write less. Your words will mean more that way.
