What now...did not get selected for Supply Corps!?

Yup got the final word today, did not get selected. "Not recommended for selection," is what my processor e-mailed my LCPO (Can they be a little bit less harsh next time). My CCC said that they will not reveal any reasoning why I was not selected...Is this info accurate?

Everyone that I have talked to keeps saying that I should re-apply. How should I do this process?

Should I basically redo the whole OCS application again, or just get new signatures and letters or recommendations?

This is kinda a win lose situation...didn't get selected but I still get to go to my new duty station. Sasebo Japan...

Please help...!

If anyone else out there did not get selected...I feel the pain, we waited so long for the results...and for what...just to get disappointed.

I don't know much about Enlisted Officer applications. However, it is true for civilian OCS applicants that they can't tell you why.

Why is your processor emailing your LCPO? If there is anyone in your COC who should be the first to know (even before you), it is your CO....and then down the line from there.

You should absolutely keep applying. I don't know your background or stats, but you've only been in a few years according to your profile. You're going to a new command so you'll have to prove yourself again to your COC. Start working on your Masters. There are plenty of accredited schools out there that offer a Masters degree completely online.

By the way, make sure you take the tour to Nagasaki. You'll never forget it.

Your DUI, assault, and burglary charges probably killed your package. I've read your explanations, and will give you the benefit of the doubt. Did you explain your lessons learned, regret, etc. in your moto statement? If you didn't, maybe this would be something to consider when you resubmit.

Maybe letting some time pass will help as well. Prove you can keep on the straight-and-narrow for a couple years.

None of have a perfect past. That goes without saying. So don't take what I say as though I'm some holier than thou prick.

Good luck.

I can say that the above 3 charges are not looked upon to kindly when officers are accused/charged or convicted.

I have seen careers end for 2 of the 3 (never personally knew of an Officer charged with burglary).

That may be a good reason why they did not pick you up, if what KP says is true. Supply guys work with a lot of money.

If I was on a board, I would be REALLY leery of reccomending a guy with a burglary conviction for ANY commission in the military. Not blowing smoke up your ass, or trying to shit rainbows out mine. Just letting you know what my take on that is.

Are these just charges or were you convicted of any of them?

I dont know of any Officers who would wite a positive reccomendation for a commisioning program for anyone charged with two let alone three of the above. To be blunt if the original poster is surprised to not be selected he is living in a fantasy world, particularly with the downsizing the Navy seems to be going through.

To be fair, no negative consequence should come about as a result of only being charged. Convicted, punished, probation...etc is a different story.

Everything was dropped.

Since I have all these charges against me (Even though all of them got dropped), that's it..., I am not going to be able to get a chance to get commissioned because of me being at wrong place at the wrong time?!

I have made a mistake and I have clearly showed and proved to myself and my command that I have put all of those things behind and became a much better sailor.

Last 3 Evals 4.0, 4.26, 4.50

Belongs to all of the special colateral duty in my command ie: Decon team,
JEM, right spirit committee, etc...

Received 2 NAM's within 2 years of active duty service
