I've heard that the IW and IP communities have some very low selection rates as well. I just got work from the flight surgeon that NAMI would consider a full waiver for my situation. She says it may take up to 90 days to prepare the full waiver and that it will take a lot of work. :-/

True, however most folks currently being taken are either prior or current enlisted.

Lol this is true NavyOffRec, but all you can do on here is state the facts. I am sure there may be some wiggle room if you have a standout Sailor. Also something I wasn't considering when I sent in my package was at the beginning of the year they had 11 slots, and 7 of those were filled by lateral transfers. orion6917 were you an alternate? This is exactly what it stated for those who were Alternates from my final selection letter good luck to all of those who apply and I hope this helps:

A- Alternate.
The professional review/recommendation board assigned you as an Alternate – but the good news is that you WERE professionally recommended. Should any of the “Primary” selected applicants fall out, decline, or be found not qualified for commissioning, Alternates from the board will be utilized and will be processed for shipping to OCS. Should you be elevated from Alternate status to “primary” status, your chain-of-command will be notified with that information and you will be processed - please do not contact the OCS Help desk for updates. Alternates not shipped to OCS during the current FY will be processed for shipping to OCS during the next FY. So your chances of shipping to OCS to start your career as a commissioned officer is still VERY HIGH – that is great news!! If not shipped during this FY, you will be processed for shipping during next FY.

so it sounds like they did what IDC did a few years ago, you are a FY14 select, then the others are FY14 alternates/FY15 selects

Looks like I might as well wipe AMDO off of this year's application and put something thats gives me a better chance.

This is what I'm thinking:

1. NFO
2. IDC (IW/IP)
3. SWO

I would do supply officer before I would do SWO they have some really awesome duty stations. That is unless you just want to be on ships for your whole career. With your resume though I wouldn't count out AMDO if you really want it put your name in the hat. You may have a couple of alternates that may not apply next year. Last year they took 12 so you never know the quota. Good luck to you in what ever you choose man.

What are some of these awesome duty stations you speak of for Supply?
