Perhaps I'm biased, but I think being an Eagle Scout still matters, particularly to those who know what it takes to become one. I put it on every application for college/scholarships, and still have it on my resume.
I think it still matters too. I learned a lot in the Scouts and during my Eagle project that formed the base for my character and morals. (Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, etc...) I have more in common with other Eagle scouts I meet than those who were never in scouts.
I'm saying that I have found that you need the volunteer hours, the good grades and other leadership experiences in addition to the Eagle (like the OP) to be competitive for jobs and scholarships.
